Gurdwara Chhevin ate Navin Patshahi Chika,
midway between Patiala in Punjab and Kaithal
in Haryana, has a historical Sikh shrine
known as Gurdwara Chhevin are Navin Patshahi,
commemorating the visits to this place
of Guru Hargobind and Guru Tegh Bahadur,
although Guru Nanak Dev is also said to
have come here during his travels in this
region. Guru Hargobind passed through
it probably in 1638 when he visited Kurukshetra.
Guru Tegh Bahadur came here from Garhi
Nazir near Samana on his way to Delhi
in 1675, and stayed here with Bhai Galaura
whom he appointed masand (preacher) in
Hissar and Hansi area.
The historical Gurdwara inside the village
at Chika has recently been reconstructed
by Sevawale Sants based at Pehowa. It
is magnificent double-storey domed building
having a 80-feet square congregation hall
at the ground floor. Guru ka Langar and
residential accommodation for staff and
pilgrims are in separate compound about
150 yards away from the Gurdwara.
