Sis Ganj Patshahi Navin
Gurdwara Sis Ganj Patshahi Navin - Tararori,
also called Travari, is an old walled
town close to the G.T. Road, 12 kilometers
north of Karnal. During November 1675,
Bhai Jaita carrying Guru Tegh Bahadur's
severed head stayed here overnight in
the house of a Sikh washer man, Bhai Deva
Ram. When Sikhs occupied Taraori briefly
in 1710, they established a small Gurdwara
here. A five storey domed building built
during the 1970s through kar-seva, under
the supervision of Baba Hazara Singh Sevawale,
now stands on the site. It is named Gurdwara
Sis Ganj Patshahi Navin. Free boarding
and lodging is provided to pilgrims staying
overnight.
