Manji Sahib Patshahi 9
Gurdwara Manji Sahib Patshahi 9 - Muniarpur,
a village about 13 kilometres east of
Kurukshetra and linked to Kurukshetra
- Yamuna Nagar road, has, close to it
Gurdwara Manji Sahib Patshahi 9 built
on the site where Guru Tegh Bahdur stayed
for a night while traveling from Kurukshetra
to Hardwar. The village was not in existence
yet. Initially a memorial platform was
constructed here. There were few Sikhs
living in this or the neighboring villages,
and the shrine remained neglected until
some Sikh soldiers were allotted land
in the nearby Mathana village after World
War I. They revived it. Muniarpur is still
without much Sikh population. The present
building was constructed only during 1959-560
under the supervision of Sant Kartar Singh
of Ladwa.
